What is deleted

  • Your profile: your name, photo, email address and ways of signing in.
  • Your memberships, any committee seat you hold, and the chapters you follow.
  • Posts you sent a chapter for approval, your applications for seats and new chapters, and your requests to join a chapter.
  • Your RSVPs and tickets, your offers to volunteer (with the name and WhatsApp number you gave), and your reactions to posts.
  • Your devices and notification settings.
  • Your candidacy in an election that is still open, and your seat on a shura.

What is kept

  • Posts you made for a chapter stay on the chapter's page as the chapter's, without your name.
  • The record of role and membership changes stays, but no longer names you. Every entry deletes itself 5 years after it was made.
  • Payment records for tickets and donations are kept by the chapter for 5 years, as South African tax law requires.
  • Reports you made and votes you cast stay, so moderation and election results remain correct, kept under an anonymous number instead of your account.
  • Posts of yours a chapter published stay on the chapter's page as the chapter's post, with their photo, credited to "a member".
